PROLOGUE

A lost figure is transported across a digital space - a journey that challenges everything about their identity and leaving nothing secure, nothing certain.
And it really made me realize about how they, they're just sort of... drifting to the other side. They have one foot here and one foot somewhere else, and yet for some reason it doesn't bother them. You know? And I... you know, you're right. All I know is what I see, and all I know is that somewhere along the line, you're not going to be afraid anymore. Somewhere in that last, those last hours, it's gonna go away.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe...
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near Tennhauser Gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears
in rain.
